This is Lake Dillon in central Colorado, just off Interstate 70. It is one of the
water supplies for the greater Denver area. The snowpack this year (2005) was very good, so
the lakes are high and it appears as if there will be no water rationing in Denver. |

This is a purple Coral Bells (Heuchera) at the Bellevue Gardens, in
suburban Seattle. The moist climate and moderate temperatures make the Pacific Northwest
conducive to gardening. The bad news is that weeds grow better out there, too! |

This is a tulip growing in our front bed, close to the house. It
was purchased in 2004 from Breck's mail order catalog. These tulips chose the week
of March 20-26 to bloom. They really appreciated the one sunnny day of the week,
Friday the 25th. |

This is the new camp kitchen that we bought at the Kansas City
Cabela's last fall. We finally got it out of the box so that we would know
how to assemble it at the campsite. It has two "cabinets" on the ends, and
plenty of workspace. The center work surface lifts off, and a plastic sink can be
dropped in its place. Wouldn't this be fun to use on a big game hunt out west? |

This is the view of the sunset from the balcony of the suite that the Four Winds
Sheraton upgraded us to on our recent trip to Ft. Walton Beach. They had overbooked
our category of room, so they "had" to put us in a beach suite, instead! |

This was taken December 4, 2004, in our back yard. It is a fall-blooming crocus being
visited by a bee. In a few weeks, neither of those will be visible. |

This was taken on Christmas Day, 2004. We had received over
a foot of snow during two days earlier in the week, and the lows dropped below zero for
the following two days. Fortunately, I had bought these chains prior to the elk hunt
of 2003. We didn't need them there, but we needed them here after Brenda's van blew
an O-ring and spewed motor oil over the driveway on the coldest day of the year.
With the chains, my two-wheel drive truck got around town very well. This photo was
taken three weeks after the one to the left. |
